I wrote summaries of varying length some years in the past. First as a supplement to holiday cards, then as a substitute when I became too busy for cards. At some point I became too busy for this either. The winter in general, and November and December in particular, are busy for me to an extent few people can imagine. I run the avalanche center more or less single handedly, and when the season is beginning I need to get all of the information systems in place. On top of that I run a fundraising auction that always ends shortly before Christmas, and that requires soliciting goods to auction, running the auction, promoting it, and shipping a lot of things at the end. At that point I am typically behind on cleaning up advisory postings, news, and incidents.
In the summer of 2006 I started a blog, but I haven't had time to add to it very often either. I'm new to blogging and I like the idea, but whether I will ultimately find time remains to be seen.
