This is the final climb up to Daunjoch from Sulztalferner. The wide snow couloir is steeper than it looks and the snow was soaked through, so I got half way or further on the skis and then scrambled up the loose rock on the viwers left until near the top when I could regain the snow.

Peter had originally suggested a long ski down from here to below the Dresdener Hut at the lowest mid-station of the cable car. But we both knew now that the snow level was too high and that the walk down to the road would be long. And the snow was very wet. So we skied back down the far side (from this picture) to the ski area piste and skied on the managed snow all the way to Dresdener hut. The initial ski down from the col is in a bit of a valley and wet slides had been running into it from both sides, although nothing too big reaches the center in these conditions. We watched some natural activity and at one point Peter started a slow wet sluff from below his skis. So things were pretty sloppy.

The forecast wasn't for much of an improvement so I opted to ride into town (Innsbruck) with Peter and wait out the latest changeable weather so I could continue touring in good conditions.
